Attention Teachers NCTD wants to make sure that students arrive to school and get home safely. We are asking teachers and schools to help us educate all students about rail safety through a national program called Operation Lifesaver. Operation Lifesaver has developed classroom lessons teaching safety around highway-rail grade crossings and railroad tracks.

NCTD also has rail safety flyers for students and videos available for schools. To schedule a rail safety presentation at your school or other community organization, or to request these materials, contact Phyllis Hall at (760) 966-6602.
Attention Parents You and your children may not be aware of the laws of the railroad right-of-way. Unknowingly, you might be risking your lives each day if you choose to trespass over the rail tracks while on your way to school or going about your daily activities. Crossing the tracks or walking near the rails is both dangerous and illegal. Please cross the railroad tracks only at designated pedestrian or street crossings and teach your children to do the same.
