SENIOR BREEZE SPREES
If you're a senior, NCTD wants to move you! NCTD can help you stay mobile and active by giving you safe, reliable and low-cost BREEZE bus service to popular destinations in North County.

Have you ever wanted to try the BREEZE Bus, but just don't know how? The Senior BREEZE Sprees is a month-long campaign that will introduce you to the bus system! If you're a senior (age 60 and over), you can take a free trip on a BREEZE bus during the promotion. The next Senior BREEZE Sprees will take place in Fall, 2008, so stay tuned!

How do I participate?
Check in with a participating Senior Center to learn about a fun day trip planned for May. You can sign up for this day trip with your Senior Center. The day trips will take you to a fun destination, such as a casino or a mall, while teaching you how to ride the bus. Our experienced travel trainer will be on hand to personally show you how to read our Rider's Guide, how to catch the BREEZE and how to transfer.

Which Senior Centers participate in the Senior BREEZE Sprees?
Participating Senior Centers are:
- Carlsbad Senior Center, 799 Pine Ave., (760) 434-2929

How much is it to ride the BREEZE bus?
As a senior (age 60 and over), you receive reduced fares on the BREEZE bus. A Day Pass is just $2 and allows unlimited rides all day on any BREEZE bus. A single trip is $1. You can purchase monthly passes for $15 at most local grocery/drug stores or NCTD's customer service centers.

I've never taken the bus before. How do I learn to use it?
Start by asking your Senior Center for a free BREEZE Day Pass and a How to Ride Guide for Seniors. Then, refer to a BREEZE Rider's Guide or our online route maps and timetables to learn more about our routes and hours of operation.

Travel Training: as part of NCTD's ongoing effort to educate seniors about public transportation, we are pleased to offer a transit training and mobility program. To schedule a presentation or training, please call (760) 966-6561.

Where to go?
BREEZE buses serve most major shopping centers, restaurants, hospitals and cultural event centers. The Day Trip from your Senior Center will show you some of the possible destinations from your home route.

Is there someone who can help me plan my trip or give information
about schedules over the phone?

To receive assistance planning your trip, call the region-wide customer information line at 511. There is also an online trip-planning feature available through the regional transit web site Transit.511sd.com for all San Diego County destinations. Timetables and maps for all BREEZE routes are available on the BREEZE schedules web pages.

What are BREEZE bus drivers like?
NCTD's bus operators are knowledgeable about the transit system and trained to be sensitive to your needs. Operators will assist you with questions and fare payment. In addition, operators will announce all major intersections and transfer points along the line.

What are the benefits of using public transit?
Transit allows you to let someone else do the driving and offers convenient transportation to shopping, appointments, restaurants, movies and to handle many of life's tasks. Transit assists in improving environmental quality, reduces traffic congestion and provides transportation options for the entire community. You can feel good about taking public transit!

BREEZE COLLEGE PASSES
If you're a college student, you know that every penny counts! Now you can avoid having to pay expensive parking permit fees by taking the BREEZE bus and the SPRINTER to college. When the SPRINTER begins operations in mid January 2008, students from Cal State San Marcos, Palomar College and MiraCosta College will have easy access to campus from a nearby SPRINTER station! Fares and monthly passes (listed below) will be the same for the BREEZE bus system and the SPRINTER trains, making it easy to transfer between the two modes. Discounted monthly passes are subject to college requirements, check with your campus.

College Monthly passes offer a great discount and are currently available through the following colleges:

MiraCosta College BREEZE/SPRINTER Monthly Pass: $39
This pass is sold in association with MiraCosta College and the Associated Student Governments -- available the 25th through the 15th of the month, or until passes are sold out, at the Student Account's Office on the main campus. Call (760) 757-2121 x 6835 for specific sales locations. A college student I.D. is required and this campus may require a minimum number of units.

Many BREEZE bus routes serve MiraCosta College and passengers using the SPRINTER have an easy 5 minute BREEZE connection from the Rancho Del Oro station on BREEZE route 319.

Palomar College BREEZE/SPRINTER Monthly Pass: $42
More than six BREEZE routes serve the transit center at Palomar College and now the SPRINTER! Palomar College monthly passes are sold at the Student Affairs Office on the main campus in San Marcos the 25th through the 10th of the month, or until passes are sold out. A college student I.D. is required and this campus may require a minimum number of units. For more information from the Palomar College web site, click here.

Many BREEZE bus routes serve Palomar College in both San Marcos and Escondido. The main campus in San Marcos conveniently has a SPRINTER station located just south of Mission Road.

U. C. San Diego
UCSD offers free rides on BREEZE route 101! UCSD students, faculty and staff can ride route 101 free using their UCSD ID. Passengers must first receive a free bus zone sticker from UCSD's Transportation and Parking Services Department. Then, show the driver your valid UCSD ID with this sticker to get a free ride on BREEZE route 101. Visit parking.ucsd.edu for more information.

Cal State San Marcos
A BREEZE/SPRINTER monthly pass for $44 will soon be available for CSUSM students with valid ID and enrollment verification through the Parking and Transportation Services office (FCB 107).
