Catch the Breeze to San Diego County Fair   July 4 Service  
Catch the BREEZE bus to the San Diego County Fair! Catch the Fairgrounds Shuttle from the Solana Beach COASTER Station (Route 401) or from the Escondido Transit Center (Route 408) and receive a $1.75 discount off the price of regular Fair admission (West Gate only).

Take the COASTER train to the Solana Beach station and get to the fairgrounds by connecting on BREEZE shuttle route 401. (Note: COASTER trains do not operate on Sundays.) Your round trip COASTER ticket allows free transfers to/from the BREEZE and can be used to receive the $1.75 Fair discount.

  All NCTD modes of transit will operate normal weekday schedules on Friday, July 3. On Saturday, July 4, the COASTER will operate a normal schedule which includes service to the 1:10 p.m. Padres game. BREEZE buses will operate a Holiday, or Sunday, schedule on Saturday, July 4. SPRINTER trains will operate its normal Saturday/Sunday/Holiday Schedule on July 4 & 5 with expanded evening service on Saturday, July 4 (see below for details). COASTER Padres service will operate on Sunday, July 5.

Expanded July 4 Service on the SPRINTER
The SPRINTER will run every half hour the evening of July 4, with last train leaving from Escondido at 8:33 p.m. and the last train from Oceanside at 9:33 p.m. Evening trains leaving from Escondido Transit Center are: 6:03, 6:33, 7:03, 7:33, 8:03 and 8:33 p.m. Evening trains leaving from Oceanside Transit Center are: 6:03, 6:33, 7:03, 7:33, 8:03, 8:33, 9:03 and 9:33 p.m. The 9:33 p.m. train from Oceanside Transit Center is the last SPRINTER train of the day. Special July 4 trains will make all scheduled stops at SPRINTER stations.
 

Compass Card   SEA LIFE Promotion  
San Diego's new smart card for transit, the Compass Card, will be replacing all paper monthly passes in the region over the coming months. Starting in May, all COASTER monthly passes will be issued on the Compass Card. May monthly passes dispensed on Compass Cards will be available for purchase at Ticket Vending Machines located at all COASTER stations.

  Between now and the end of July, every time you purchase a beverage from a vending machine at participating COASTER, SPRINTER and Trolley rail stations you may win two tickets to SEALIFE Aquarium in specially marked bottles of Coca-Cola! Catch the BREEZE route 321 to Legoland Monday through Friday to visit the new SEALIFE Aquarium.

Coaster Padres Schedule   Stimulus Funding  
Effective Wednesday, July 1, 2009 there are no open containers of alcohol permitted on board COASTER trains after 9 p.m. COASTER conductors and security personnel will enforce the new ordinance with zero tolerance. Passengers engaging in loud or profane speech, or acting in a manner that is disruptive or threatening to others, are subject to removal from the train.

The parking lot at the Rancho Del Oro station will be closed due to paving work June 26 thru 30, 2009. A detour will be in effect all day for BREEZE routes serving this station. The 317, 318 and 319 will not be able to use the bus stops in the parking lot. A temporary bus stop is on Rancho Del Oro Rd. facing southbound north of the east entrance to the station parking lot.
